For those that think that newspapers and politics is the most boring subject you can imagine, well, it’s quite the opposite and can be lots of fun.
Anyway, I had a big laugh when I read the following statement of Abdul Rahman Dahlan (BN-Leading majority party-Kota Belud):
Who would succeed Anwar if he becomes the new PM
It’s always great to see how far politicians sometimes do think ahead…
- Our actual Prime Minister is Badawi: struggling a bit since his BN party’s seats in parliament went down from 93% to just above 50%.
- Anwar is from the opposition party and in theory could stir something by getting some swingers over to his side and gain a +50% majority himself. Just how stable do you feel when you deal with swingers, let alone swingers who are politicians…
Now suppose Anwar would become PM, why do you want to know already his successor?
Or are Malaysian politicians so focused on the 2020 date Mahathir opted once that they forget about the daily problems?
Not to mention the problem Malaysia will face when they need to import more oil than they export, that’s predicted to be 2014…
Do we really want to know who is going to steer the ship then when the seas are already beating us up left, right and center today?
It would be better to start helping with all hands on deck to keep the boat afloat and get it to a direction that’s good for everybody onboard…
