Maxis Broadband is the snail of the day. I would be vary happy if I could eat snail at this moment, but unfortunately I am talking about the speed of the snail, or rather: the lack of speed.
Today is a holiday in Malaysia and when you think you are in for a day of fun on the Internet, forget it! Your Maxis broadband is on holiday as well.
Every time, every weekend and now even today on a holiday: Maxis broadband is slower than the dial up of good old Jaring. Thanks to them I can manage to at least update my blog… jeez, and I am paying a fixed monthly fee for Maxis and on top of that I need to pay Jaring to at least get some connection?
And don’t give me again the crap of the Maxis Broadband helpdesk: you need to restart your computer…
All that happens with a restart is that you loose another 5 minutes not only of Internet time, but of computer-time. On top of that it is not good for your blood-pressure.
I must say I do understand that a wireless network is not that easy and cheap to maintain. And I am happy to have a line that’s a bit faster than a dial up during working days. I also understand that not all towns have coverage and it goes without saying that there is non in the jungle.
But I do a fixed monthly price so I do expect a monthly service. It’s not like Astro that there is a storm and satellites can’t cope with that. It’s just because Maxis is cutting down on bandwidth because that’s another way of making money on holidays…
I do want to pay what I get , so at this moment that is zero for not being able to use Maxis Broadband.
