Retire before you die

May 2nd, 2008 by MM2H

Malaysia my Second Home is all about retiring and making sure you can enjoy your retirement in the best possible way ever. For us Europeans Malaysia is a nice choice because lots of people speak English, so you can get your bearings without too much hassle.

Once you are here it’s easy to go and enroll yourself in a class to learn the Malaysian language or any or the other languages spoken here.

But I am writing this post to mention what I read in the Malaysian newspaper today: Naza Group founder and chairperson SM Nasimuddin SM Amin died this morning at 1.15am (local time) while undergoing cancer treatment in the United States. He was 53.

What scares me is his age: 53 only with lung-cancer.

Unfortunately there is nothing that can prevent you from getting lung cancer in the first place. And 53 is not even a retirement age in Malaysia. In other words: life is very unpredictable, so even if you work for a better future, make sure you enjoy your life of today as well.

On a site-note: yet another prominent Malaysian is seeking health care overseas, this time at a private hospital in Long Beach…

We hereby pass our condolences to his wife, Zaleha Ismail and his children.
