Anwar will be charged tomorrow

August 6th, 2008 by MM2H

Anwar will be charged tomorrow for sodomy.

Being charged doesn’t stop Anwar contesting the by-election for the parliament seat his wife gave up earlier last week.

Anyway, it was never a matter of how, it was only a matter of when.

The time is tomorrow 10.00.

Paris Hilton beats McCain

August 6th, 2008 by MM2H

mccain paris obama britney

For those having a life and therefore not following all US election ads on TV: McCain ran an ad comparing his rival Senator Obama to the "brainless blond celebrity Paris Hilton".

In the US politics is like selling margarine:

just run TV ads

… and try to explain why your margarine or politics are better than others…

None of both are having convincing plans to solve problems. Let’s give an example you first should discuss with your smart 5 year old:

Problem:

  • The earth is getting to warm because of burning overly expensive oil.

Solution?

Ask your 5 year old!

Didn’t he make the smart remark:

stop burning oil all together?

Yet according to McCain you should:

start drilling for even more oil

You can only sell bad margarine using an overly smart marketing campaign…

Abuse of Power anyone?

August 6th, 2008 by MM2H

altantuya shaariibuu

Yesterday Umno veteran Mazlan Harun lodged a complaint against party president Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and deputy president Najib Abdul Razak with the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) for alleged abuse of power.

Today nobody got beaten up nor got missing…

How can?

History has it that you can get away with criticizing Umno as long as you are not part of any opposition

What is abuse of power?

According to the complaint:

Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and deputy president Najib Abdul Razak had abused government machineries to garner support among Umno members in a bid to sustain their positions in the coming party elections.

As a born European I can tell you it’s going to be very difficult to prove that any government money has been used to keep any ruling people in power. Why? Because every vote is secret, so you cannot prove to the letter that the money spent caused the people in power to stay.

Of course in the street we all know that campaigning costs cannot be covered by the paycheck of the people involved…

So instead of Umno people complaining about problems that are clear to all worldwide, why not tackle serious complaints where people’s lives have been taken?

Let’s give an example of power abuse citing wikipedia about Shaariibuugiin Altantuyaa who leaves behind a cute son, was murdered on Malaysian territory and somebody must be abusing power in order to not investigate this matter to the fullest.

Murder trial

The trial was originally going to be held in March 2007, but was postponed until the 4th of June 2007. Due to controversial and last-minute changes in the prosecution and defence teams, and the presiding judge, the trial was again postponed until 18 June 2007. The pre-trial preparations have seen both the prosecution and defence teams level accusations of evidential impropriety at one another. During the trial there was an incident between Baginda’s wife and the victim’s father.

According to testimony in the trial of Altantuya’s accused murderer Abdul Razak Baginda, the murdered woman accompanied him to Paris at a time when Malaysia’s defence ministry, headed by Najib Tun Razak, was negotiating through a Malaysian company, Perimekar Sdn Bhd, to buy two Scorpene submarines and a used Agosta submarine produced by the French government under a French-Spanish joint venture, Armaris. Perimekar at the time was owned by a company called Ombak Laut, which was wholly owned by Abdul Razak.

On July 22, 2008 lawyer Karpal Singh filed a notice of motion to call Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and three others to testify in the trial for the murder of Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu. Karpal who holds a watching brief for Altantuya’s family, also sought to recall private detective P. Balasubramaniam who was the first prosecution witness in the trial. Karpal said that summoning Najib is bound to admit fresh evidence to the case…

Lives are priceless…

What is a son without his living mother…

Everybody is innocent until proven guilty…

In Malaysia: parliamentarians in the evening news will add to that:

"why doesn’t he come forward if he has nothing to hide?

If he is innocent, he has nothing to be afraid of…"
