Left, right and center

When Chedet aka Tun Dr. Mahathir touched down from Japan, he couldn’t resist to give Abdullah a left, right and center 5 minutes earful: Union-style armed with a loud-hailer from the sunroof of a silver multi-purpose van at the airport…
Just their luck that the Japanese went the extra mile to keep them far away from each other at the recent annual Nikkei conference.
But the key sentence is left-right and center. Because being a leader from a party that always has had the majority, what kind of politician is Mahathir: left, right or center?
If you accuse Anwar to be a chameleon, then the above reason is your simple explanation: if you belong to a party that has a majority, you have the luxury of playing the left, right or center card.
- If Mahathir made sure there are no weapons inside the country, which card is he playing?
- If Mahathir says: follow me and get out of the party, which card is he playing?
- If Mahathir talks about Malay rights, which card is he playing?
And shouldn’t we be all Malaysians in the true spirit of Nelson Mandela’s fight: making a country for everybody…
