Sabah hunts Badawi’s head

June 19th, 2008 by MM2H

So called breaking news yesterday said that SAPP: the Sabah Progressive Party will back a no-confidence motion against PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi when Parliament resumes on Monday.

This is typical head hunting or looking for a black sheep.

Same strategy Bush uses to get rid of Sadam Hussein only to find Iraq in an even bigger mess afterwards.

What do you do when Badawi is gone?

Do you have a plan? Or do you criticize the current government hiking the oil prices without a plan?

Anybody with a plan here? Or are we just hunting down heads for the sake of hunting fun…

Suppose Badawi steps down like so many people in the street are asking, then who is going to succeed?

Najib? Isn’t Najib the one saying he is 100% behind Badawi and what he is doing?

Don’t you have to get rid of both Najib and Badawi?

And if you continue this logic, don’t you have to get rid of the ruling party ruling a country for 50 years until it got into the mess it is in now?

Playing divide and divert games: welcome PSM

June 18th, 2008 by MM2H

psmPSM or Socialist Party of Malaysia was given the green light by the government of creating their new political party after a decade-long battle.

Sounds great isn’t it? Not really as there are 3 eyesores here:

  1. The well know Roman strategy of "divide and rule":
the ruling party BN has lost so many followers
    the opposition is almost united
    so…
create an extra party so some will only be focused on that in stead on keeping the focus on a strong opposition coalition.

Let’s just hope that PSM is smart enough to see that they are just pawns played by the government in their own political game to gain majority not by helping the people but by helping themselves.

  2. In what kind of state it’s the government that decides who can make a political party and who cannot? That’s like organising a football tournament and saying that Brazil cannot join because well…
Anyway, this is not something typically Malaysian: remember how much struggle was involved to get the UK from a 2 party system in a 3 party system. US is even worse: you can only vote "left or right": either you are with us or against us…

What kind of democracy is that? It’s a democracy where the ones in power make the rules in order to stay in power…

  3. People want solutions to the daily problems, not create new parties… Or: the divert from the real problems strategy

Welcome PSM! meanwhile oil prices didn’t change a bit and prices go up…

Walking as in… Malaysian Public Transport

June 16th, 2008 by MM2H

public transport

First time I was in Kuala Lumpur I got myself a metro plan and was set to go and discover.

The plan looked as marvelous as the Paris metro plan! High tech man: this LRT train doesn’t even have a driver, all fully automatic until…

I noticed I had to change lines in Dang Wangi until….

there was no line to change to!

The Gray Dotted line

Have a look at the map up close and look at these gray dotted lines…

dang wangi kuala lumpur

In order to go from Dang Wangi to Bukit Nanas (or to go from Bank Negara to Bandaraya) you switch to the gray dotted line

Which boils down to:

leaving the metro station,
have a walk in the hot sun or poring rain
to go to the next metro station…

Gosh, I do love walking but I hate it when a car comes zooming by on a rainy day…

It’s not the first time that I get splashed soaking wet and need to buy dry close in order to reach my destination in a presentable state…
