Say my name, eat my sausage and vote for me!

When my European country was 50 years independent, elections went as follows:

• death people managed to vote twice
• demonstrations were demolished with violence and killings (since death people can vote…)
• politicians went to the public (once every 4 years, not too bad…)
• politicians carried a bucket with sausages and in order to get one all the people had to do was:
• say the name of the politicians
• say how many letters there were in his name (for those that were illiterate to vote, at least could count the letters to vote correctly)
• promise to vote for the politician
• get the promise back that in 4 years the people will get another sausage

So the easy way to gain votes was:

• keep the people uneducated
• give the people some free stuff once in a while

Sausages should go to the people, not disappear in the mouths of politicians

Listen to Information Minister Datuk Seri Zainuddin and tell me:

• is he in need of English classes (after all he is the Minister of Information)…
• or should he just swallow the sausages (that should have gone to the voters mind you…) before he speaks…

Even the noodle seller on my street corner speaks better English
compared to this Malaysian Minister of Information
I just wish my noodle seller would run for President:

• he can count
• he can speak
• at the end of the day he makes profit
• even when taxes and prices go up

Abdullah Badawi only wants positive criticism

And I do agree with prime Minister Badawi: if you have a complaint and you think you can do better, at least give some positive feedback, so here we go:

• stop the silly debate about teaching maths in English or Bahasa:
• if you want your people to count, teach counting in the language they understand, so at the end of the day you are sure they can count! (4000 protestors vs 40.000 protestors…)
• if you also want your people to be "glocal" or international minded, make sure you teach English in schools
• Malaysian food is the best in the world, but make sure you showcase it in a positive way: no need to hear an Information Minister speaking with his mouth full
• Malaysia lives from tourism and tells the whole world that we speak English. At least if you have a Minister on TV, make sure he delivers English like we portray we speak.
• rule by example: examples are the only things my children learned from me, so why not use this fundamental logic in ruling a country?
1. You want to be "glocal" and speak English? Then make sure the people representing you on international media do speak English.
2. You want to be laughed at? Then speak and act like a clown.
3. Make your choice!

CNN loves Pakistani Bloggers, why Malaysia doesn’t love their bloggers?

Can you imagine a country without freedom of the press? Take Pakistan: as soon as the media went off the air, CNN starts portraying news it finds on sites of bloggers.

Now in Malaysia we have a prime Minister who promised 4 years ago he would go and listen to the people.

Well: the people blogging in Malaysia have been warned that their voices can end them into jail

And a peaceful demonstration from the same people needs to be broken up by water, teargas and hitting the people here and there.

I heard 4 years ago the PM saying: I am going to listen to the people.

I cannot believe he said: I am going to hit the people…
